April 24, 1942/Dear Miss Breed,/I wanted this opportunity to thank you for your kindness as a librarian to me. I enjoyed the books very much while I was in San Diego. We all miss the library very much./How are you these days? I hope this card finds you fine and in the best of health. From tomorrow my sister and I start in working as waitresses.
