August 19, 1942/Dear Miss Breed,/We received your books a day or two ago, but am very sorry I didn't write. Jacks goes to school every day and brings home a good report card./We sure miss the fine library you have and the San Diego climate. I would like to thank you and Miss McNary for all the fine things you have done for him. We all appreciate it very much. Send are best regards to Miss McNary.
