An older gentleman, diplomat and past Mayor of Tokyo, Yukio Ozaki, arrives with daughter, Yukika Sohma, and is interviewed with Yukika acting as translator at the Pan American runaway at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at night in Los Angeles, California, May 16, 1950. Ozaki wears a hat and a collared cape over a suit. He is thin and has a mustache. Daughter wears a hat and a carnation lei.

Gentleman behind the daughter without a hat is Katsuma Mukaeda, representative of Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Southern California.
