Portrait of Sazo Idemitsu, president of Idemitsu Kosan, a Japanese petroleum company, California, December 1, 1955. A smiling older, white-haired, balding man in a suit sits in a chair leaning forward on desk and holding an envelope, facing right. He looks through round-rimmed eyeglasses to the right of viewer. Desk is angled and has a folded Rafu Shimpo newspaper on corner, bottom right, as well as a black rotary phone and file trays at other side of desk with pen set in between. Closed doors in background, left.
