Presentation of the Nellie Oliver award to Makoto Sakamoto, gymnast at Los Angeles High School, for outstanding Southland prep school athlete of 1965 at Kawafuku restaurant in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, California, November 6, 1965. Includes portrait of boy in suit holding two trophies with circular window and images of dancers on wall in background, and same boy holding the larger trophy surrounded by eight Japanese men in suits, one holding the smaller trophy.

History
Makoto Sakamoto graduated from Los Angeles High School in 1965 and was attending University of Southern California at the time. He won the the National AAU all around title in 1963 and 1964, as well as represented the United States in the Tokyo Olympiad in 1964 while at LA High School.
