Seattle Kokon Taiko (SKT) performs a dynamic synthesis of rhythm, movement, and spirit. SKT, formed by a group of young Sansei in 1980, performs at community programs, arts festivals, schools and colleges, and corporate events. Through taiko—originating in Japan, grown in America—SKT links our past to the present, weaves threads of continuity between generations, and builds bridges of understanding among people. Members performing at the Conference are: Stan Shikuma, Charlene Lee, Ken Harris, Griffin Joko-Fujimoto, Andrea McQuate, and Joyce Nakamura.
