Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston

Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston co-authored Farewell to Manzanar with her husband, James D. Houston. The book is based upon her family’s experience during and after the World War II internment of Japanese Americans in California, and it was made into a film in 1976; she received a Humanitas Prize and a 1976 Emmy Award Nomination for her script. In 2003 her book The Legend of Fire Horse Woman was published. She is currently at work on her next novel.
