Teruko Kumei

Professor, Shirayuri College

Teruko Kumei has studied the history of Japanese immigrants for the past four decades in the United States, including Japanese language schools, U.S.–Japan exchange ships during World War II, and Japanese (language) immigrant literature. Professor Kumei is currently a professor of American History and Culture at Shirayuri College in Tokyo.
