William Higuchi-Collier is a Washington, D.C. native who currently serves as Co-chair of the Heart Mountain Foundation Youth Council. The evolution and development of the Heart Mountain Interpretive Learning Center and exhibit is a project of particular significance to Higuchi-Collier because Heart Mountain is where his grandparents, Bill and Setsuko, first met when they were only thirteen years old. As co-chair of the HMWF Youth Council, Mr. Higuchi-Collier oversees the Foundation’s social media outreach and is working to develop a nationwide network of young people interested in the Japanese American internment.
