Tim Otani

External Affairs Manager, Union Bank

Tim Otani is currently External Affairs manager for Union Bank where he focuses on outreach to the Japanese and Japanese American communities in the Northwest in addition to working on broader community relations, corporate giving and government relations activities. Before assuming this position, Mr. Otani spent 17 years with Washington Mutual managing their Community Relations and Corporate Giving program. Before entering the private sector, he worked for 12 years in executive positions for various non-profits, including six years as Regional Director for the JACL. Mr. Otani has actively served on more than 30 volunteer boards and committees, including: Japan America Society of the State of Washington; Washington State Housing Finance Commission; National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development; Nikkei Concerns; and the YWCA.
