1993 Fellow

Erika Rothenberg’s installations and public art projects are wicked and wily, cracked yet highly composed. Her House of Cards fractures the sentimental, commercialized form of the greeting card with barbed political satire. The subtle Mouse Hole might be the exilic domain of Mickey Mouse after retreating from the chaos of society.

Rothenberg’s work has been widely exhibited at galleries and museums including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; and Documenta IX in Kassel, Germany.
