2007 Fellow

Natalie Bookchin creates work from and about the conditions of the Internet. Her work points to ways in which global media connectivity, technologies of surveillance and networks of communication alter our sense of space, time and proximity. In this exhibition, Bookchin’s Trip weaves together footage of car journeys in different cities across the globe into a single, continuous experience of landscape.

Bookchin’s work has been shown widely in international venues such as PS1, Mass MOCA, the Generali Foundation, the Walker Art Center and Centre Pompidou, among many others. She is also widely recognized as a theorist of new media and is co-director of Cal Art’s School of Art Photography and Media.
