kip fulbeck: part asian, 100% hapa
kip fulbeck: part asian, 100% hapa is an exhibition of portraits by Kip Fulbeck that was organized by the National Museum in 2006. Originally a derogatory label derived from the Hawaiian word for half, the word Hapa has been embraced as a term of pride by many whose mixed-race heritage includes Asian or Pacific Rim ancestry. The exhibition continues to travel to other sites across the United States.
For more information about the exhibition and additional sites where it will be on display, visit: janm.org/exhibits/kipfulbeck.
