Ella-Kari Loftfield

Middle School Educator, Eagle Ridge Middle School, Rio Rancho Public Schools

Born in Boston, raised in Albuquerque, educated near Philadelphia, Ella-Kari Loftfield began her teaching career with an emergency certification in South Central Los Angeles in 1987 and has taught middle school ever since. She has her National Board Certification and is an Annenberg trained Critical Friends Coordinator and has recently developed curriculum for the Native American Community Academy in Albuquerque. Inspired by the work she has been doing with the Japanese American National Museum since 2005, she has now returned to school to earn a Master’s degree in history, with a possible thesis on the Department of Justice Camp in Santa Fe.
