Cynthia Kadohata

Cynthia Kadohata has published stories in The New Yorker, the New York Times Christmas Edition, Grand Street, and Ploughshares. Her novels for adults are The Floating World (a New York Times Notable Book), In the Heart of the Valley of Love, and The Glass Mountains. Her novels for children are Kira-Kira (winner of the 2005 Newbery Medal), Weedflower (winner of the PENUSA best novel for children), Cracker! The Best Dog in Vietnam (a Washington Post best children's book of the year), and Outside Beauty. Kadohata currently lives in Southern California.
