Asian American Artists and Abstraction, 1945-1970

This exhibition features the art of American artists of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean descent who employ traditional Asian art techniques and philosophies to explore abstract art. Isamu Noguchi, George Tsutakawa, Chinyee, and Don Ahn are among the 50 artists included.

This exhibition was organized by the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The following government agencies and corporations have also provided support for this exhibition, catalogue, and brochure: The National Endowment for the Arts, Washington D.C., a federal agency; Council for Cultural Affairs, Executive Yuan, Republic of China, AT&T.

In Los Angeles, the exhibition is co-presented by the Fisher Gallery of the University of Southern California and the Japanese American National Museum, and presentation of the exhibition is sponsored by Sanwa Bank, California.
