Celebrate the opening of JANM’s new exhibition, Cruising J-Town: Behind the Wheel of the Nikkei Community with a special opening reception. Exhibition curator Dr. Oliver Wang will discuss car culture across the generations of Southern California Nikkei.

Cruising J-Town chronicles the people and stories behind how Japanese Americans have played vital roles in countless car scenes throughout Southern California. The exhibition will feature rare photographs, car-related ephemera, and oral histories from Nikkei car enthusiasts, racers, mechanics, journalists, industry professionals, and many others. Both a companion book and documentary content will accompany the exhibition.
