    To celebrate their 25th anniversary, the U.S. 101 Photo Club will showcase their work as one of the original non-commercial photo clubs to document Nikkei history.     In 1958, five Japanese Americans founded the Holiday Bowl in the Crenshaw area of Los Angeles. Serving a multi-racial clientele, this bowling alley played an important role in the desegregation of the city and served as an integral part in rebuilding the Nikkei community after World War II.     An afternoon of poetry published in an anthology by the Manzanar Committee, an organization whose goal is to educate the public about the Japanese American internment experience. Poets featured in this anthology will talk about their experience writing and their participation in Manzanar After Dark, a program that began in 1997 to teach young people about the Manzanar camp experience.

    Artist MIRA NAKASHIMA, architect, daughter, and apprentice to George Nakashima, will speak about her father's furniture design and architecture, which she profiled in her book, Nature Form & Spirit: The Life and Legacy of George Nakashima. Ms. Nakashima continues to produce furniture designed by her father along with her own designs.
