THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED This event is FREE! The Japanese tea ceremony is called chanoyu or sado in Japanese. It is a choreographed ritual of preparing and serving Japanese green tea (called matcha) together with traditional Japanese sweets to balance with the bitter taste of the tea.

We are fortunate to once again have a two-day workshop to further explore shibori and indigo. Various types of vats will be used, vat making instructions to be presented, and a swatch sheet made with various fabrics. Additionally, we will work on stitched shibori as well as itajime and even try our hand at shirokage or “white shadow” shibori.
