"Moving Day" program presented by JANM

About the Event

Tonight marks the beginning of Moving Day, on the eve of the original issue date for Civilian Exclusion Order No. 1 (issued on March 24, 1942, to residents of Bainbridge Island, WA). Before the projection begins, join us for the first in a special series of public programs. Featured speakers are JANM volunteers Tohru Isobe and June Berk, both camp survivors, who will discuss what it was like to be forcibly removed from their homes as children. Discussion will be moderated by Clement Hanami, exhibition curator and Vice President of Operations/Art Director. Video clips from a 2013 visit to Bainbridge Island will also be shown.
