The Japanese American National Museum and the Ainahau ‘o Kaleponi (”From the Cool Lands of California“) Hawaiian Civic Club would like to invite you to a “Pupu Party” (“Appetizer Party”)—Mixed Plate Style!

On Sunday, April 19, 1998 from 1 p.m.–3 p.m., members of the Hawaiian Civic Club will divulge their favorite secret recipes from the Islands representing the ethnic mix of Hawai`i, China, Philippines, Samoa, Portugal, and Japan. This delicious party is only $5 for Museum members and $9 for non-members which includes Museum admission, and you must call (213) 625-0414 for your reservations today! The Museum is located at 369 East First Street in the Little Tokyo Historic District of Los Angeles.

“We will introduce the participants to the various cuisines of the Hawaiian islands,” said Jane Pang, Culture and Arts Coordinator for the Hawaiian Civic Club. “We’ll show everyone how to celebrate a real Pupu Party!”

You will take a hands-on approach in preparing these appealing appetizers and then enjoy the fruits of your labor with a sampling feast! Don’t miss this tantalizing treat for your tastebuds.
